Tennis and Golf
Most Sanibel and Captiva condominiums have tennis courts on site. New
to tennis? There are teaching professionals available at several locations, like
The Dunes Golf and Tennis Club. Sanibel and Captiva are home to four
golf courses: The Dunes Golf and Tennis Club, The Sanctuary Golf Club, Sanibel Island Golf Club, and South Seas Island Resort. Some are open
to the public and others require membership. But if you’ve never golfed
on the islands, it’s an experience you will not want to miss! There
are swaying palms, tranquil lakes, glimpses of open water and wildlife
galore. Even if you’re not a golfer, you may want to ride in the cart
for a morning taking in nature’s best!
Winter Training Baseball
Southwest Florida is home to the Florida
Grapefruit League…or winter training for major league baseball. Each spring, there’s enough baseball being played around here
to satisfy the most avid follower! Fort Myers is home to the Red Sox
and Twins. The Rays play from Port Charlotte. Travel a little further
north and you can see the Pirates, Orioles, Yankees, Phillies, and more!
